The 25th China Refrigeration, Air Conditioning, Heat Pump, Ventilation, and Cold Chain Equipment Expo (China Cold Chain Expo) kicked off on November 15 in Changsha.
With the theme “New Normal, New Refrigeration, New Opportunities,” the event attracted over 500 exhibitors, including top national players in the refrigeration industry. They showcased core products and cutting-edge technologies, aiming to drive the industry towards greater environmental sustainability, efficiency, and intelligence. The expo also featured multiple professional forums and lectures, bringing together industry associations and corporate representatives to discuss market trends. The total transaction volume during the expo is expected to reach hundreds of billions of yuan.
Rapid Growth in Cold Chain Logistics
Since 2020, China’s cold chain logistics market has expanded rapidly, driven by strong demand and a surge in new business registrations. In 2023, the total demand for cold chain logistics in the food sector reached approximately 350 million tons, with total revenue exceeding 100 billion yuan.
According to expo organizers, the food cold chain plays a critical role in ensuring food quality and safety. Through advanced refrigeration technologies and equipment, it maintains a consistent low-temperature environment across all stages—processing, storage, transportation, distribution, and retail—minimizing waste, preventing contamination, and extending shelf life.
Regional Strengths and Innovations
Hunan Province, with its abundant agricultural resources, is leveraging its natural advantages to develop a robust cold chain logistics industry. The introduction of the China Cold Chain Expo to Changsha, facilitated by Changsha Qianghua Information Technology Co., aims to bolster Hunan’s position in the cold chain sector.
“We focus on providing professional refrigeration solutions for supermarkets and convenience stores, collaborating with major local chains such as Furong Xingsheng and Haoyouduo,” said a representative from Hunan Hengjing Cold Chain Technology Co. The company highlights its competitive advantages in design, cost-effectiveness, and after-sales service, while maintaining a strategic presence both domestically and internationally.
Hunan Mondelie Refrigeration Equipment Co., a pioneer in smart cold storage solutions, showcased its core technologies for rapid freezing and storage. “We see tremendous potential in Hunan’s cold storage market,” said General Manager Kang Jianhui. “Our products are energy-efficient, safe, and stable, enabling rapid cooling, freshness preservation, and extended storage periods.”

Established in 2000, the China Cold Chain Expo has become a flagship event in the refrigeration industry. Held annually in major cities with strong industrial influence, it has grown into one of the most prominent platforms for showcasing advancements in refrigeration technology.
