The 2024 Annual Conference of the Chinese Association of Refrigeration was recently held in Beijing, where the “Dongdong Test” temperature-controlled label, independently developed by China Eastern Airlines Cold Chain, a subsidiary of China Eastern Logistics, received the “Outstanding Innovation in Cold Chain Logistics” award for its innovation and practicality.
As the first cold chain company in the civil aviation sector, China Eastern Airlines Cold Chain was officially established in May 2024. The award-winning “Dongdong Test” label addresses critical industry pain points such as data, temperature, and monitoring gaps. This innovative product allows back-end personnel to monitor cargo information in real-time, issuing alerts to designated recipients if anomalies occur. The label features a compact size and long battery life, making it suitable for nearly all transport equipment, including aircraft. Furthermore, cost optimization during its development enables large-scale implementation, laying the foundation for widespread adoption.
The “Dongdong Test” label has been successfully tested in various scenarios, including the transportation of fresh goods like king crabs, salmon, and lobsters, as well as biopharmaceutical shipments. Test results show a significant reduction in temperature deviations and cargo damage, with notable decreases in non-natural losses for high-value goods like king crabs and lobsters. Participating customers expressed strong interest in continuing to use the device in future collaborations.
Looking ahead, China Eastern Logistics plans to integrate IoT capabilities and leverage AI technology to enhance the intelligence of the “Dongdong Test” label. These advancements aim to expand its application scenarios and further improve its functionality.
