The reporter learned from the China Federation of Logistics & Purchasing today that, at the "Khorgos International Logistics and Supply Chain Summit Forum" yesterday, a relevant person from the China Federation of Logistics & Purchasing introduced the recent developments. In recent years, the country has successively issued national plans such as the "14th Five-Year Plan for Modern Logistics Development," the "14th Five-Year Plan for the Development of a Modern Comprehensive Transportation System," and the "14th Five-Year Plan for Modern Circulation Development," which clearly outlined the specific tasks and requirements for the international logistics supply chain. The construction of the international logistics supply chain system is accelerating. A number of internationally competitive modern logistics enterprises are rapidly expanding their international logistics networks, the construction of the "Two Belts and Ten Corridors" international logistics channels is accelerating, and the layout of national logistics hubs and backbone cold chain logistics bases is steadily advancing.
Foreign trade shipping, international aviation, China-Europe freight trains, and the new land-sea corridor are operating smoothly, and international logistics operations continue to improve. From January to August this year, the national ports completed a foreign trade cargo throughput of 3.34 billion tons, an increase of 9.7% year-on-year. Air transport completed a total of 10.324 million tons of international cargo and mail, an increase of 4.9% year-on-year. China-Europe freight trains sent a total of 1.262 million TEUs, an increase of 23% year-on-year. Currently, the cargo handling capacity of major land ports continues to increase, and intergovernmental international road transport agreements have been signed with 21 countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative. In August, the cargo volume of major land ports such as Alashankou, Khorgos, Erenhot, Manzhouli, and Suifenhe increased by 89.1% year-on-year.
At present, 125 national logistics hubs, 66 national backbone cold chain logistics bases, and 116 multimodal transport demonstration projects have been included in the government's support scope. There are more than 2,500 large-scale logistics parks nationwide, and logistics infrastructure has begun to take shape.
He Liming, President of the China Federation of Logistics & Purchasing, suggested that the advantages of the domestic strong market and logistics network should be fully utilized to create a large platform for international logistics hubs. Relying on these key logistics facilities, international logistics enterprises should gather international logistics elements, strengthen the coordinated development of inland international hubs and coastal border hubs, form the main operational and organizational centers of international logistics channels, promote the co-construction and sharing of high-quality overseas warehouses, accelerate the layout of overseas logistics networks, build overseas smart logistics platforms, and enhance the connectivity between international logistics channels and target markets abroad. Efforts should also be made to improve the linkage between international logistics channel networks and domestic logistics channels, focusing on securing the layout of overseas key minerals, strategic resources, overseas cooperative industrial bases, and important international markets. The optimization of strategic materials and important upstream products' reserve structures and strategies should be prioritized to provide strong support for securing the national key material supply chain and promoting the international expansion of domestic products.
